This morning, I am in the office early after dropping my boyfriend off at the airport at the ripe hour of 5:00 a.m. What they say about the early morning hours are true: The ones before nine are the most productive. Already I have scared several people who have never seen me enter the office before nine, and I must admit, I am scaring myself. I was in my cubicle while it was still dark outside. Generally, the morning does not look kindly upon me, and I would still be tucked in bed right now (7:40 a.m.) if it weren’t for my jet-setting man.

As I’m finally sitting down to blog once more, I have to admit that I’m not good at this. (This is probably obvious to everyone, but I’m just now coming to terms with it.) I have to write and edit all day, as well as tend hungry Web sites, and blogging always gets pushed off my to-do list and onto the next day’s. Today I have to establish a budget for Web initiatives for the coming fiscal year, and participate in a July/August rollout meeting for our advertising team. I have to follow up on some interviews, edit some Frames, write a Frontline and a Pulse piece, figure out the least annoying kind of popups for the Web site, build an e-newsletter archive area, and write the May/June e-newsletter. I also have a bunch of editing and tweaking to do on Outreachmagazine.com. I want to blog, I do. But I just stink at actually doing it.

If I was dedicated, truly dedicated, I would probably come in at 5:30 every morning. I would sit down at the computer and blog before I did anything else for the day.

My friends, I do not see that happening.

I would be permanently crabby, and I’d have to start going to bed early instead of staying up to watch LOST, season one. But I will continue making blogging appearances, cameos if you will, as often as I can.
