In fact, I ultimately shut down my Facebook account for the exact same reasons that you mentioned, plus there were a world of temptations that I personally couldn't handle. But then I joined Twitter for the sole purpose of following the Taco Truck in East Nashville. These are very, very good tacos and Twitter was the only way to find out where the truck would be parked. I soon realized that Twitter is so much more than a place to talk about what you're doing. Local coffee shops and bakeries Tweet their specials of the day, if I wash my phone with my sheets I can tell all my friends at once that they need to call Manley's instead, etc. etc. It's just not as bad as I thought it would be. It's kind of good. So far. It took me the longest time to join Twitter…I was opposed to it for a good while.
